La Tavernetta - VOLTERRA

Food was ok, But staff not friendly, not single smile or word. Service slow and very poor, never asked if we wanted any desserts or coffee. Go and find some where better.

We enjoyed eating outside on a lovely evening and had wonderful conversation with fellow travelers at the table beside us.I opted for a pizza with fresh buffalo mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil. The taste was good but the crust was too thin and became soggy from the melting toppings. It also would have benefited from more tomatoes and fresh basil but the mozzarella was generous and very good. My husband enjoyed the wild boar with black olives. Service was pleasant and the prices were good.

We arrived at this restaurant in Volterra and 935pm on a Saturday night. The restaurant had several tables of customers left and we thought there'd be a chance that the kitchen may have closed. They happily offered us a table and we were swiftly waited on. We enjoyed two pasta dishes, dessert and coffee. The prices were good. A good place for simple, solid food.

Il ristorante è discreto, senza grandi pregi ma neanche grossi difetti, anche considerando che a volte si terra. Gli affreschi all'interno sono molto caratteristici, ma lo spazio esterno è limitato e la strada un po' trafficata. I prezzi sono in linea con la qualità del cibo, che comunque è buono, ma il servizio lascia a desiderare e fa ombra a qualche sorriso o cortesia in meno.

Lovely lunch, good menu choice, good service, nice people, excellent wine what more could you want? I had the fried pesce Helen had the cheese honey. The couple next to us had pasta and said it was lovely.
