Bidrage med feedbackThe ambiance of the restaurant is excellent, but I found the portion sizes to be too small for my liking. Although the food was delicious, I felt that it was overpriced.
I am puzzled by how a restaurant can justify charging high prices for such small dishes. Shouldn't there be some sense of shame? 1.5 tomatoes for 125kr (13.5 euros) with a drizzle of olive oil that the waitress insisted we savor? Do you enjoy leaving a restaurant still hungry, or do you have too much money to spend? This restaurant might appeal to you. Otherwise, it's probably best to steer clear. To my fellow French speakers: avoid this place, as it is the epitome of poor value for money. It's a disaster.
We ate at Var Fru on our recent trip to Visby. The food is fascinating, with a mix of vegetables and lovely sauces. The experience would have been perfect if they hadn't made us wait for the table we booked- they tried to seat us as walk ins before the mistake was discovered- and the service had been warm throughout the evening. The people we met in Visby are truly kind and welcoming but one of the waitresses marred our evening here. Her attitude was sour, her colleague was lovely though. We waited 45 minutes for a dessert, then waited another long time for the bill after we asked for it. This was the first experience that wasn't fully positive. Too bad because the food itself is quite good.
Charming old house ambience, very friendly staff, excellent location for a drink and some nibbles. When it comes to food I found it rather overpriced 5 steamed asperagus for 170 kr! The lamb was grilled so much that the outside was dark brown and stiff as sticks! The seasoning was also poor! The sauce was just melted butter with no flavor! It could be a stray incidence, but I will be careful in choosing this place for a full dinner!
