Restaurant l'Abbaye

We were coming south from the Charles DeGaulle Memorial to pick up the main road back to Troyes, and literally bumped into this restaurant. It is actually not very far off A5, the main road to/from Troyes. Indoor and outdoor seating, near gardens, a teensy waterway (not quite canal/stream and willow and other trees made for a tranquil view from our table. I had the bruschetta to start but it was their own twist, with ham slices, tomatoes, and melted cheese, with fruit slices on the side. My husband had Terrine de Viande like a pate, also presented with fruit slices yum! We ordered a local Haut Marne white wine, wow! to accompany the fish dish we had. It came with the complete fish, dressed in an attractive sauce. (only the head and tail hanging out! The flesh was light peach color, but the fish was a trout. I've never had such good fish before! (well, maybe in Alaska The accompanying vegetables were presented in a cup of mille feuille or similar pastry. And the small potato side was like scalloped potatoes, but freestanding no dish. Another family member had blanquette du porc which was equally good. Local cheeses and then flan for dessert we wished at the end that we had a chauffeur to drive us back! This is worth the detour if you are heading south/north on A5 from Troyes, an amazing restaurant possibly the best food we found in France!

We only tested the restaurant, the dishes were not exceptional, my father's vegetables were even burned. On the other hand, the lady who served us was very attractive and very professional! Thank you! Little more, dogs are accepted

Come for a wedding anniversary meal, gargantuesque meal, service to the top..rien to say more

Very friendly establishment. Perfect welcome. Breakfast at the top (fresh bread, excellent pastries, homemade jam). Delicious evening meal. I especially recommend this hotel if you come to the region. If you're looking for a real place and warm owners, it's the right place. Jérôme and Sandrine and the two Yorkshires
