Bidrage med feedbackWhat most turned me off was their requirement of a substantial extra charge for splltting a meal. But if you get an extra 'side ', then it 's only 3.50 for the extra side. They also have a chicken soup on their menu. Could I get a...small cup of chicken soup os a side? Nope. They don 't allow that. That has to be a whole meal. Instead I had to settle for a tasteless and strained potato leek soup.....tasted like something you get out of those packages. The sandwich we split (a grilled cheese for grownups) had a chard kimchi on it and while I was initially skeptical, the cheese and the kimchi were actually quite good if a bit pricey for what you got. Most of it, thought, was a very thick bread. As a dessert we had an apple cake which was excellent, and one of their raisin seed chocolate chip cookies which was a bit disappointing (very buttery and more chocolate chips and less seeds and raisins than I would have liked). The server we ordered from probably could have done better....we weren 't offered a receipt from our online payment....and she was so rigid about subsituting that soup. The person who brought our food to our table was much friendlier and more animated..
Good location. Lattes are lukewarm. Selection of food is very poor . Visit D’Lish and compare . You are nowhere near sorry but that’s the case
We discovered Ruth and Dean on Estevan by surprise, as we were really just looking for a hot drink. The cheese/green onion scones were the best I’ve ever tasted, Warmed through, they were crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside and packed with flavour....I had a mocha, and my husband opted for the coffee, which he said was excellent. My mocha was what I described as “sophisticated “ I.e. rich but not too sweet. Our server explained it was designed to go with the sweet treats from the bakery. Great idea! We went back the next day and plan to do this often. Very pleasant staff too!
Was a very busy place last weekend. Line up out the door and took some 20 minutes to order and well worth it! Lord of the Rings ELK served us, and our dog (outside), very well indeed. Thanks
While on a bike tour of Victoria, we stumbled upon a quaint coffee shop. We ordered a hot and cold latte along with the breakfast sandwich and were blown away by how delicious everything was. The food and drinks were served quickly and were piping hot. The service was highly efficient. Although the shop is not prominently featured on bike maps, it's worth the extra detour. The atmosphere is more relaxed than Oak Bay Village.
