Bidrage med feedbackWe will not be back because it is not correct to calculate what Ricky does and expects the moats (right for the weather) to sit in a UNHEATED restaurant.
We arrived for an early dinner and after a long wait, we were seated near the front door where we discovered that the restaurant lacked proper heating. The waitress was wearing a heavy sweater and seemed cold. We quickly decided not to dine in such discomfort. We ordered a soup which was brought to us promptly. Unfortunately, it was served in a small 1-cup portion with only 2 packets of dry crackers. While the soup was tasty, we cannot recommend this restaurant due to the unwelcoming staff, lack of warmth inside, and small portion sizes.
On the way to the ferry I stopped breakfast on Sunday morning. I accuse the entire experience I was hit by a young server that mentioned it was his third layer. From warm inviting smiles and coffee to payment he was attentive during my visit. Well done! Breakfast was also very good so I will definitely be back.
For years I have been a regular customer in this special restaurant on Douglas. This has changed a few weeks ago in December 2021. I called the manager to tell him that the sausages of my breakfast were BLACK. Instead of saying, 'I'm really worried about it, he says I know. I forgot to tell him I needed a chain saw to cut it, but I told him I didn't. He tells me he could bring them back and bring them new, but they won't be so cooked. When I heard that, I said no thank you (to think about Salmonella). He led me unintentionally to believe that new ones could be infected, whether he wanted it or not. In order to keep me as a customer, everything he should have done, maybe take a little out of my account, and go as he was. As I said, I've been a customer there for years. NOT MORE! Also, I didn't leave a tip and the waitress obviously got mad at me when she grabbed my bill and gave it to me without thanking. (I had told her about the black sausages). I was with The Blue Fox. Their sausages were perfectly cooked and were NOT BLACK. December, 2021 Shirley Slager Victoria, B.C.
Tried to go eat here for breakfast, we are a vaccinated family from alberta but our vaccines were done in manitoba. The guy wouldn’t let us in because we didn’t have QR codes, which we cannot get currently. I’m fully supportive of restaurants having to...follow the rules of the government but maybe the owner of Ricky’s needs to read them again. Clearly states on the B.C. website that if you’re from another province all you need is provincial/territorial proof of vaccination and government issued ID which we had both. Extremely frustrating and unfair. Will never visit a Ricky’s again.
