Montreal Subs - Victoria

Friendly staff. Sub was alright but I expected more. The location is great and while I was passing by and thought id give it a go. It was noon on a weekday and devoid of any customers, which I found odd as the place is almost the size of a small gymnasium. I hear it is a local owner so I hope he can make this thing work. But certainly a few things need improvement.

Montreal Subs provided our company a Christmas lunch. We have staff who have ordered from these guys several times now. We enjoyed several subs and a couple salads. Great Subs and the salads were several steps above what was expected. The young lady who made our order had it ready when we arrived. We would never fail to recommend them for any lunches for staff or meetings let alone just going to the restaurant. Turns out its a local company and we want to make sure we let everyone know about this local gem.Vegetarian options: We ordered one veg sub and several salads.Parking: Lots of parking around the store.

So this place isn 't 'the worst ' per say, but it is utterly bizarre. The food is incredibly average and definitely a little pricey for the quantity and quality. With my chocolate milk, a nine inch sourdough with a paltry amount of meat on it came to like 16 bucks. There 's inflation and then there 's whatever this is.The atmosphere is terrible; it looks half-under construction and there are some really loud vents or something that echo off the cavernous walls.And on my way out, the one worker there exclaimed Resist the man, maaaaan! ... like, what? You work for a restaurant fella, at least pretend you 're not high at work.

I'm going to try something different next time. I liked what I had, even though it wasn't quite what I was expecting... I'll decide what I think of this place then.

Sauces tasty, not bad overall, not a huge amount of toppings, and some of the lettuce was wilted rotten. So so.
