Bidrage med feedbackAs a seasoned Italian traveler, my family and I sat down at the piazza tables to grab a few evening drinks and a snack for my son. The staff seemed very young and not very professional but we ordered two Aperol Spitzes and a chicken sandwich for my son. The drinks arrived and I was surprised that it tasted like no alcohol. We often make Aperol Spritzes at home because they are so easy. 3 parts prosecco, 2 parts Aperol, 1 part soda, they are hard to mess up. So we took the drinks back to the bar and the lady said possibly she messed up the ingredients. My guess is she reversed the soda and proceccproseccoe poured more prosecco in, but the drink was never to recover. We then received the chicken sandwich, which was not like the picture on the menu it was a cheap breaded processed chicken slab. One corner of the sandwich was burned and the cheese had been absorbed by the base of the bun. My son managed one bite and then I tried a bite and we deemed it unedible. We paid our bill and moved 10 meters to another restaurant's set of chairs and had a much better experience. Avoid the chairs in front of Caffe Piazza Dei Signori and try the much better Primafila cafe (A little more expensive but high quality) or the BarVenti5 (another good bar) just seconds away.
Not a great choice of tastes, but the gelato at this place is maybe the best one we've tasted on our Northern Italy trip this year! As true worshipers of Sicilian gelato, which is a lot better than Italian now definitely, this one is the only one that can be compared, and it's great! This is a small place with a nice table setting on the Piazza dei Signori, but we couldn't enjoy it because it was just about to rain very little! a drizzle barely! and the waitress removed the tableclothes and closed the umbrellas ?! why, they serve to protect guests from the rain and sun i guess ... so we left on the rain under the skies... This is the only reason why I give 4 stars, the staff should be more polite on a major place like Piazza dei Signori, she didn't even offer to go inside and there're a few tables inside also, we saw when we asked for the toilette. Also a few customers were waiting for the icecream and left, because she was too busy talking on the phone. Nevermind... ice cream is not to be blamed, take the gelato for takeaway and go! ;
Nicely situated looking out over the Piazza Del Signori. Very popular, which means that you might have a wait for service. Crisps only with the Aperol Spritz.
Stopped off a couple of times on my strolls around Vicenza, the waitress Mariana was fantastic working alone and covered both the cafe and the tables outside, serving and keeping everything clean and tidy. They serve a variety of spritz of which I had the aperol and tropical both were delicious and served with a mixture of condiments of crisps, olives and pastries, and at €4 in the centre of town was excellent value. I will definitely visit again when next in Vicenza 5*
Good people watching post on the piazza for coffee, wine, gelato, ice cream, etc. Been there a long time and a good location.
