Lowood Tavern - Vernor

Food......It's unfortunate that this restaurant is lacking a skilled and passionate chef. The meals were cold and undercooked, resulting in a disappointing dining experience. It's clear that this place needs a young, fresh, and enthusiastic chef to turn things around. On the bright side, the bar staff and waitresses provided excellent service. ⭐️⭐️

Eight of us dined at the Lowood Tavern last Friday night . Two of us ordered Chicken Parmy and when it arrived it was huge .but beautiful. The chicken was very tender and the topping delicious but it could have fed 3 people.Being not a lover of chicken breast and this being the first chicken palmy I have ever ordered I was pleasantly surprised. Prices were very reasonable . The only down side of the meals were two ordered the crumbed lamb cutlets but they did not make the grade but everything else was good . Staff very pleasant, cheerful and and helpful

We went here for dinner and I order rack of lamb, I must admit that when it arrived it looked quite nice but when I started to cut the lamb apart I noticed that the lamb fat was white, like when you cook lamb and have it the next day. So when I cut the meat through I touched the meat with my finger and it was cold! I told the waitress my problem and she offered to replace my meal, all good. I then ordered a steak and told the waitress medium to well done no blood please so when my steak arrived I cut the steak and only to find underdone steak with blood. My son ate my steak which he was happy about and I ended up with no dinner at all. Upon leaving the waitress asked how my meal was and when I told her about the steak she just shrugged her shoulders and said hardly anything at all just gave me a blank look. I do not think that I would rush back here in a hurry, not sure if the cook really knows how to cook?

We liked the look of the verandah but unfortunately the night was too cold to sit outside however the hospitality was warm and friendly inside. My husband's choice was a very well priced Rib eye steak. The waitress took great care to make sure it was cooked just how he liked it, I chose the Caesar Salad with prawns not expecting one of the most delicious examples of this I have had. The steak was delivered perfectly and with obvious pride. For the very reasonable price it was a delightful evening thank you

Staff were incredibly friendly accommodating. I wasn't looking forward to what I was expecting our means to come out looking like, but I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't the most amazing meal ever, but it was a delicious roast great value for money. It would definitely be worth the return trip.
