Salvatore's Italiano - Vermilion

The service is great, but they really need some better recipes. The red sauce is bland and taste like it came out of a jar. The chicken marsala had no flavor and was way too sweet, and the mushrooms in it were rubbery. The bread they serve at dinner is pretty terrible, tastes like it was frozen from the supermarket and heated up in the oven. I heard the place went downhill after it changed hands. I wonder if they are cutting corners it seems like they are using premade commercial products from Food services of America or Sysco or something like that. The calzone I had last time I was in was pretty good though, and I will go back and try the pasta Primavera sometime just so I can give it another review. And they have some good happy hour drinks on that menu.

We had reservations for a party of 8 and when we arrived the table was set with water already in our cups. The service was perfect. Each course of our meal arrived at the perfect time seamlessly with the flow of our conversations. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. We never once had to wait for anything during a busy dinner rush. Service: Dine in

Though it was a stressful night for the staff with it being Homecoming night we still enjoyed every bit of the food and atmosphere. Staff was friendly and checked in on us multiple times during our meal which was appreciated. We will be back.
