Referred to us by a local administrator where we were staying this charming small rustic resto nestled in the historic town of Verbicaro, Calabria well preserved. Mr. Giuseppe received us with a great big warm smile with his deep voice. This resto serves typical Calabrian food of the area mostly around that town. They cook it they way they did in the old days. An experience you will not get in the heavy tourist area. This is home cooking at its best. Get ready because once Giuseppe starts, the food does not end. The plates keep coming and they are one better than the other. Starting with appetizers (mainly zucchini's, red and green peppers). The deep fried red peppers crispy and delicious, the meats prepared were succulent and tenders. Not a disappointing moment up to the digestive drink made of fennel. As for the wine, they have a barrel off the wall. You serve yourself as much as you can drink! The wine is of a very good quality for house wine. If you want a real taste of Italy you have to go discover this place. The trek is well worth the experience. Trust me I have traveled all over Italy.

Is a very pleasant plase, placed in an old cellar. They serve 13 appetizer and a cake. Wine as many as you want directly from the barrel. Food are typical of the field Verbicaro) and the owner serve them ti the guests, while is wife is cooking.

Locale accogliente, con oggetti di epoche passate che ti fanno viaggiare indietro nel tempo. Cibo eccellente, proveniente direttamente dal produttore al consumatore. Il proprietario è veramente cordiale e piacevole. Un plauso alla moglie cuoca.
