Bidrage med feedbackWe had a late night craving for sushi, and this place was still open, THAT I liked a lot, food was well seasoned and not too busy at that time, there were 4 stars for service only because there was 1 lady only used with r tables this night, but unlike so far so good, I will eventually go back
I love supporting smaller businesses and always make sure to write a review (especially on Yelp) when I love a restaurant. One of my favorite cuisines is Sushi and I visited the many Sushi restaurants in Ventura. However, I also have to leave a review if a restaurant so creepy disappoints, there is simply no way around it. My friend and I came in an hour before Ozeki on Thursday night. It was empty since it was 10. We warn the woman who served us, who was clearly one of the owners, that we were here for a snack, as we had both annoyed stomachs, but after climbing still needed to refuel. So we ordered a house salad, garlic edamame, chicken salad, dung soup and salmon cutting roll. There was a sounding theme with every food item we received: teeny, tiny, mini-portions and no effort to make any item, no matter what. The house salad came in a delicious **** soup bowl and was lumpy sweet. It took about 4 bites to finish the salad because it was so small. The garlic edamame also came into the smallest stack. We had to talk about how much we ate because the proportion was absolutely minus. It was also just too buttery and salty. $7 for a handful of soybeans that are not even delicious? Ookkk. We then got the chicken salad and the soup of my bf and we both laughed and asked us exactly the same: is this a meal for ants? His mixing soup came in a smaller bowl than the salad came and took about 3 sips to finish. $ 1 per sip, that's an expensive soup. And his chicken salad was just so sad: mix a little spring with what seemed less than 1 ounce chicken cut into tiny slivers. I ordered the salmon cutting roll last minute and it was also the sadst salmon roll I had ever seen; literally, only salmon wrapped with rice and Nori. No avocado, no cucumber. The rice didn't even taste like sushi rice. Oh, my goodness, I just have to ask: How can the owners call that a Japanese restaurant? It's almost as if they had no cooking background, a look at a sushi menu, and thought Hey, let's try it, and was only able to pull the butcher's even the simplest of their menu points. Ai yai. The owners clearly don't care how their food looks and tastes. It felt almost like cafeteria food, where every diner gets the smallest, fit ration. Before ordering and receiving our food, I was thrilled by all the tasty looking Ozeki reels when I had penetrated their menu and asked my Bf if we could come here to try out a future date. But after I saw that the owners jump out and do justice on even the simplest ingredients, let alone a decent part for the price, I am not entrusting them to do justice with more expensive ingredients. I would highly recommend staying away from here and instead try Koba Sushi (2026 E Main St) or Banzai Marina in downtown Ventura if you want a high quality sushi experience in this city. Even if you order a Basi
We were worried when we came to an empty restaurant at 5:45 on Wednesday night, but our meal turned out to be excellent! The jazz music and the quiet ambience provided a nice culinary experience. The food was fresh and tasteful. Our children loved Yakisoba and Garnelentempura and even tried their first role! Ozeki was the hot spot in 2000, and I hope the business will pick up for her again!
The prices online are false. I was the only person there for a while. I wanted green shells. The price is listed here at 6.95 for 5 pieces. It's 8.95 for 4 pieces. Also ordered edamame. I heard them swing it on their backs. The bowl was half as big as my fist. I expected a cereal dish, not a small one? Side of the rice bowl. These are silly things you can complain about. I'm sorry. I hope they update their prices online. If that was right, I would give him 4-5 stars. It was $28.93 for a Sashi (salmon) salad, edemame and green shells. I tipped to make it $40. I was still hungry when I left, but I ate very fast since (but I was a lot UNGRY when I came in). When I look back, I notice that my level of hunger earlier clearly decided my satisfaction. I think other people with normal hunger would be good to eat there and be sufficiently satisfied.
I love coming to this quiet and friendly spot. The owner is very attentive. If you come to this little while in the wall next to 99c in ventura you must try the snow roll. It's so yummylicious. I love it and the koyjo roll is awesome. I love to come here and relax, enjoy my food.
