Bidrage med feedbackRistorante Alle Corone world class mastery of flavor and cooking technique for all Recently (29/6/2023), my wife and I and two other couples dined at Ristorante Alle Carone, located in the exclusive Hotel Ai Reali in Castello. The ambience is contemporary, relaxed, and intimate, limited to about 6 tables. We savored the six course tasting menu. Highlights included an eclectic collection of cicchetti (dabs of whipped pecorino and fig on crunchy polenta chips; tasty cheese sculpted as a bright red tomato on a bed of polenta; cuttlefish crudo); tender, seared swordfish marinated in spices, sour cream, and pomegranate; fresh, whole squid stuffed with cod, creamed potatoes, and carletti (sweet, mild and fruity); hearty spaghetti with octopus ragù, garlic and chili pepper; delectable steamed turbot fillet, covered in a Cantabrian anchovy mayonnaise (dreamy umami flavor), garnished with radish and tatsoi; and tender, roasted pork belly with snow peas, kumquats and chives mayonnaise, which lent a sweet, salty, and citrusy flavor. Kudos to Chef Mauro Catiello, who graciously visited our table, and his dedicated staff. With his culinary artistry, mastery of flavor and cooking technique, I envision a Michelin star in his future. We look forward to our next visit.
This restaurant was inside a very nice hotel. It's a smaller restaurant so make sure to you make a reservation. If you are staying at a hotel, definitely have your hotel make the reservation for you, as the self option via their website was not as trust worthy. Dinner was great! You do not get large portions here please see my tips below regarding this as I do not judge European restaurants on portion size. Their portions are different, I'm just telling you for basis on how hungry you may be! Often you will see first and second courses on Italian menus. This would be a place to do a couple courses to feed your soul. I had the ravioli with broccoli and anchovies. It was just the best! The broccoli sauce was magnificent. My pallet was thoroughly pleased! Cost of dinner here was a bit ore expensive. We also ordered a bottle of red wine which was perfect. Not bitter, not dry and just a touch of sweet. In all we spent around 100 euros and we only had one dinner selection a piece. It could become more costly depending on what you order. Also feel free to dress up a bit! It's classy. Few tips to keep in mind: 1. This was a nice little restaurant with smaller portion size. (I say that because portion sizes are often different in each country, so if you are coming from the states, do not expect large portion sizes as we often see in restaurants from the US. Judging it based on that would be unfair). 2. Something else to consider, in Italy, you cannot judge service on speed. You are not rushed in restaurants to order, eat and pay. Often they will not ask if you ready for your check until you ask. They also do not check on tables as frequently as seen in the US. Judging the restaurant on that aspect would also be unfair. Enjoy the experience! 3. A service charge for each restaurant is automatically added.
Stepped into this tiny bar connected to the Hotel Ai Reali, where I am staying, for tea and cookies. Great service, simplistic yet stylish, dimly lit perfect place to hide from the rain and crowds by yourself to relax and rehydrate.
Beautiful hotel in a convenient area to visit Venice. Definitely good breakfast
The hotel is very nice and the most positive note concerns the breakfast really of quality and with abundant choice, both sweet and salty. We can not give too high score because in a 4 star superior it is not possible to have the tent in the shower and the absence of the bidet but the wc of the disabled (among other things very high and uncomfortable) with the spray on the side. Not bad the SPA, but you have to do something for the high slippery of the floors. A lady fell and we finally walked better without slippers, but she slipped too much.
