We saw the restaurant had done well on TripAdvisor, although it was our second choice..... number one was closed. I had the baked Camembert and my partner had the ‘burger revisité’. Both were freshly cooked, delicious and well presented. Even though the restaurant was full we didn’t have to wait too long and had an unexpected bowl of l’aioli and bread to nibble while we waited. Service was professional, neither particularly friendly nor by any means hostile. A few lines of English translation on the menu might have been nice, it’s not really that much trouble is it ? Enjoyed a relaxing lunch, with drinks and the bill came to under 30 Euros for two of us. We sat outside with a pleasant outlook and the inside looked cosy but uncrowded. Slightly more cheerful staff would have delivered the full 5 stars ! I should also add a shout out for Vendôme. What a lovely little town, the fabulous Abbe de Trinite, the interesting old town with roads/alleys criss-crossing the river and finally do climb up to the ruins of the castle to admire the view and walk off that excellent lunch at Dame’s Tartine.
