Hamnkrogen - Vaxholm Sverige

We came to Vaxholm in October, which is not in the normal season. And thus the choices for places to eat are very limited. However, we were thrilled to have this be our place for lunch. This has got to be the best value for the money that we experienced in Sweden to date. My wife had the Swedish meatballs which were outstanding. I had the meatloaf which was also excellent. The mashed potatoes and lingen berries that came with them were great. And the price of the meal included a drink and a small salad and bread bar which were very nice touches. And free coffee and tea. I cannot stress enough how good the food was and what I wonderful value it was.

We visited for the day from Stockholm. We wanted something nice to eat for lunch so we came to Hamnkrogen. We had the set lunch menu. I chose the beef, which was really good and my brother had the fish. There is a salad bar, where you can have as much salad as you want for free as well as soft drinks and coffee. It was really good value for money as well as good service and feeling. There was a queue when we got there, so had to wait for a few minutes to get a table. Would go back again.

A beautiful and cosy restaurant with exceptional food. We both opted for the Baltic Herring and we’d highly recommend. The panna cotta was also delicious. The staff were on point too. By far the best restaurant in Vaxholm.

This restaurant in Vaxholm is fantastic. They serve excellent local dishes, with a delicious daily menu that includes tea cakes and coffee. The customer service is also top-notch.

Came to the island on a boat from Stockholm. After a nice walk excellent lunch spot. Exquisite fried Baltic herring! Nice selection of beer. Worth every penny. Highly recommend.
