Bidrage med feedbackI have crossed this cafe serval time without noticing it. One of my friend suggested me to go there. So I did. Well the food was real surprise. Tasty food with a good service. It gives a homely feeling I guess we don't want that kind of feeling in the cafe
May be the best coffee in town. This guys really know something about coffee. We had lunch here, then came back for dinner. Really liked it, not so busy and the rooftop is really cool. I had the chicken with fries, they were tasty, very well presented, neat. I liked this place!!
Most unique thing about the place is that you don't feel you are dining in a restaurant. It is so designed that it makes you feel at home. There are sofas and a table set in various small rooms with wall hangings and Russian matryoshka dolls arranged beautifully in shelves. All these give it a unique, homely ambience. The menu offers a wide range of dishes from pancakes to apple pies. I had the cheesy chicken pasta, the chicken mayo sandwich and a veggie burger. Nothing disappointed but the sandwich with generous amount of cheese and chicken in its stuffing was ruddy brilliant. Undoubtedly, its the most value for money cafe in Assi ghat. Great ambience and good food. Come here with your friends or even parents and you will have a nice, personal and the most "sanskaari"(I say it in a good way)time of your life. ;)
This little cafe and shop was a real find. Located right at the entrance of the renowned Asi Ghat , this tiny cafe consists of a cpl of rooms on the ground floor and a bamboo enclosed terrace area. One would have thought that they would have kept the fencing low , to enable a view of the hustle bustle around but once you sit down here you realise the value of this high fencing. It converts this space into an oasis of tranquility in that maddening surroundings. The seating on the terrace is a mixture of traditional wooden chairs and some plastic ones around wooden tables , each of which has a candle , floating in a bowl full of water sprinkled with fresh rose petals and the entire ambiance here is sublime. The young , well presented servers are quite efficient and genuinely friendly , not the fake kinds you encounter at most touristy places in this city , they truly add to the ambiance of the place. My initial order was just for a large cup of Americano coffee( ₹ 50/- ) , which arrived , nice , robust and hot in a sparkling clean , large cup . It was wonderful tasting such nice coffee on the Ghats of Varanasi. Even though I was not particularly hungry but as I wanted to write this review and did not want it to be based on just a cup of coffee , I ordered a cheese , tomato and cucumber sandwich ( ₹ 70/- ) offers a choice of fries or a salad as a side , I chose the Salad. When the order arrived , first I was slightly disappointed , I had forgotten to mention that I did not want it toasted. The server offered to replace it but as it was my mistake ( or rather misunderstanding , because the menu did not mention that the sandwich will be toasted ) I refused the offer for replacement , as soon as I took the first bite , I knew that I had not made a mistake , the bread , though the regular off the shelf variety , was real fresh and the toasting was nice too but the real icing on the cake was the side salad , a simple but well presented melange of capsicum , onions , carrots , tomatoes and cucumbers , which was really crunchy and tasted nearly farm fresh . At the price mentioned above it was defiantly the yummiest , hygienic and most value for money , light meal I have had in a while. Finally do I recommend it and will I go back ? I I was a local to the city am certain , The Place , would have been one of my most visited cafés and I highly recommend it. ENJOY. thefoodgypsy.co
