Wendy's - Vancouver

Not only was the grilled chicken a joke... not less than 6 guests after dinner and not a... I do not repeat a table was cleaned never mind sanitation!!

We ordered dinner from this restaurant and chose the Speck cheese burger, French fries, and a frosty. It was excellent, and we were pleased that we didn't have to wait long for our food.

Since Dave passed away, the quality of Wendy's food has significantly declined. The fries, once considered among the best in the fast food industry, are now often soggy and mediocre at best. The burgers no longer have the same juicy appeal they once did, especially the Bacon Mushroom Melt. It used to be a deliciously messy burger, but now it's a dry and unappetizing option. While I still enjoy the Nuggets and the occasional burger at Wendy's, it's clear that the overall quality has decreased from what it used to be.

I had a confusing and unpleasant experience at this restaurant. Unlike other Wendy's locations, there were no napkins or utensils provided. When I walked in, I was the only customer there. The debit machine wasn't working, but instead of trying to fix it or use another machine, the three women working there just stared at me and gave me a dirty look. When I asked if I could pay with cash instead, one of the workers stood there silently until another worker finally stepped in and accepted my payment. She had difficulty making change and then tossed it in a dirty plastic basket before pushing it towards me. I also had to ask for a napkin, which the woman behind the counter handed to me with unwashed hands after handling cash. It took me five minutes just to order a small frosty. This was my very last visit to this Wendy's. The whole experience was bizarre and unpleasant.

I was actually pleasantly surprised by the staff and location. It is very new, quite clean (for a Wendy's) and brightly lit. The vanilla Frosty I had was excellent as was the Southwest Salad, fresh and inviting. The parking lot is huge, and it would...seem to be the best Wendy's in Nanaimo except for the horrific location, right across from the Casino. I wouldn't venture into this area at night without armed guards. It seems that most of the criminals, bums, and junkies in the central Island like to hang out within a couple of blocks of this location BEWARE!
