Veras Burger Shack Gastown - Vancouver

We live nearby and Vera's is a default go to. The quality and service have declined for a couple years. We vowed a couple times not to go back but tonight was the final straw. We paid $52 for a burger, 2 fries, 2 pops and 6 small chicken strips. I'm embarrassed that we went there. To add insult to injury we paid for gravy and it wasn't included. When I called I was told manager wasn't in today. There are so many better places in this neighbourhood. Don't walk by...run.

Veras at gastown a nice clean place. You will pay like $16.00 for a meal double burger, fries and drink but they are cooked not on the grill but charbroiled like off the BQQ nice and hot. Not a lot of toppings compared to fatburgers but hey tastes better not cooked on a grill, and homemade fries itws worth paying the extra money. Look on line for a coupon you might found one. I found one expires at the end of July for buy a meal combo and get a burger free. Cant beat that. The drinks you can buy bottomless foundation which is great. Id just ask for extra mayo on mine next time. Hot to your plate!

Average burgers. Nothing special but tasty (instead of vegetarian burger which was really bad). The restaurant is clean and servers are pleasant.

I did not enjoy Vera's philly cheese steak, it was on a hot dog bun (Gross.) The poutine was extremely small for the price and my burger did not meet my expectations what so ever. I enjoyed the variety of topping and the jalapeno bottle caps

Don't get me wrong, Veras Burger Shacks are all good. You'll enjoy every burger as it's above average and tasty. Fries are a personal taste for every individual and personally I won't rave over the fries. Unfortunately I always think afterwards that I've paid quite a lot for a burger and if the prices were lower I definitely would eat here more often than once in a very blue moon. For the same price you could have a much better meal someplace else as Vancouver and Gastown area have such great restaurants. In fact, the only times we have eaten here were when other places were full and Veras pretty empty. You'll enjoy your burger here but it comes at a price.
