This place is absolutely true to its word. Basic. Good, solid, home cooked meal. Nothing fancy. Outstanding service. Convenient location.

Very good place to grab breafast, really enjoyed pull pork egg bennies!

Was planning to go to Dennys but the customer service there was lacking: I got no help or attention for 10 minutes after being led to table . I decided to leave and remembered The Basic was just a short walk away. Service was excellent there and they let me choose where I sit. I ordered the pancakes with eggs. Food was delicious and hot.

I was thoroughly disappointed. The omlette was horrible, Hashbrowns were terrible (had 1/4 and 1/2 potaotes mixed in with the hashbrowns , the veggies were mixed sized and not properly cooked. Plus, their ceaser was basically vodka, clamato juice, and ice with a ceaser salt rim. Never

Your typical breakfast stop that we went to due to it being on Davie Street and we were going to explore it. Staff was friendly and the place was clean but the food wasn't anything to write home about. Overall a good place to eat though.
