Bidrage med feedbackLocated on Homer Street between Helmecken and Nelson, SVB is currently (June 13, 2020) open for take-out. Line up safely, place an order and pay at the counter and wait for your order at one of three tables designated for the purpose. It worked smoothly and we walked around the corner to Emery Barnes Park to enjoy our treats. SVB's entry in the Croissant Challenge is a Freshly Milled Buckwheat Croissant with Valrhona Dark Chocolate Bannetons. Really tasty! I'm feeling like the buckwheat added a measure of earthy flavour but it was also buttery and rich. The chocolate really added a serious punch. Try this! Of course, we had to try a couple of other things too. This Lemon Cranberry Scone could win the scone challenge if there was such a thing going on. It wasn't overly sweet and just crumbly enough. Finally, we tried an apple tart which was also tasty. Dessert for breakfast is a good thing. Lots of fruit for a small pastry and we recommend it. We completed this delicious breakfast with a decent Americano. Lots of choices here beyond even what is in the pastry case. If it was close to home, we'd add on the pounds pretty quickly I think. When they open up their dining area, it will be a great place to relax and enjoy a treat and a coffee.
This is a busy location but both times I've went, we manage to snag a table after hopping around some temporary spots on benches and random chairs. It doesnt feel catastrophic due to high ceilings. Great upbeat vibe. Almond croissant was delicious and crispy, but quite oilier than others I've had. They must put almond butter in the middle as my fingers were left greasy. The coffee is good, so i would definitely be returning regularly. I did find things to be pricey, but it is Vancouver. Both times I went, I found the separate coffee bar to be a bit confusing as I didnt know when and where I would pick up my drink. I often had the feeling they missed my order.
Review is for Granville St. Beautiful bakery. Coffee is spot on, small menu with great food presentation. Nice staff and quick service. This is close to home so will definitely be a regular stop.
Barista handle coffee beans and tea leaves with care. They are all professional. I enjoyed the coffee the bakery items at the bar table. <br/ <br/ Highly recommend to all coffee lovers.
After suffering bad coffee in Whistler for a week. Yes they make it in buckets with garden hoses we looked forward to some decent coffee in Vancouver. We found it. Nice good quality sandwiches and cakes. Worth a drop in. Went on a Sunday arvo, seats a bit tight. Lots of singles hogging the tables with Mac books!
