Poor Italian Ristorante - Vancouver

Incredibly Veal Marsala, large portion size and no problem with the substitution of potatoes to Linguini with fresh pesto!! It was great.

The flavors are excellent, good mix of vegetables with the net, pasta starter was delicious, homemade beautiful bright pasta, excellent sauce.

Great food, service is great! Well presented, tasty, Tirasimu was also excellent, will try again more food and desert. Well done!

One of the complaints I had read is that the service is bad, but we had good service at night, least you don't feel comfortable. I ordered a carpaccio, ousobucco and a tiramisu, and they are all good and fresh; Carpaccio is made with delicate Tenderloin with enough green and Parmesan cheese, the ousobucco is served with a delicious risotto. My mother enjoyed her calfscallopini with marsala sauce as well as the grilled vegetable side dish, while my father had a bowl with delicious mussels (they are fresh and big) and the daily risotto. That is, taste is subjective, and here are some who can turn people off: 1) some people like the greens on carpaccio not 2) the risotto is too rich for my father 3) my mother so that the grilled vegetables are tasteful without much salt. I know one of my friends hates because they don't like the vegetable flavor But for me, the experience and taste is better than another restaurant in the city, including a famous steakhouse. Very recommended.

We were very disappointed in our Valentine 's Day experience at the Poor Italian. First, we arrived on time for our reservation but were seated in a horrible location right by the dishes. This resulted in us constantly dealing with wait staff moving around us. When we were seated we asked if we could possibly move to a less busy area and were told 'no ' as the restaurant was fully booked. However, throughout the evening there were multiple vacant seats in the more desirable areas of the restaurant. We were told that this was because there were many cancellations. We simply did not understand why the restaurant wouldn 't fill their more desirable seats first to begin with. We were also disappointed with the waiting staff. The staff seemed very unhappy. There was a set menu for the evening. We felt that for the amount and quality of the food the price was too high. The food came in small portions and wasn 't very good. I have been to the poor Italian once before and was very happy with the food and experience. I chose the poor Italian for my Valentine 's Day dinner and was sadly very disappointed with the overall experience. I feel upset that I chose to spend my Valentine 's Day evening in the restaurant.
