Donair Spot - Vancouver

The only positive aspect of this restaurant is that the canned soft drinks are decent. I would recommend staying away from the beef, as it resembles and tastes like Spam, and the chicken is overcooked with gristle. Additionally, everything, including the rice and potatoes, is overly salty, and the salad is not fresh. The unisex restroom had a strong urine odor and was lacking toilet paper.

I am a big fan of donairs, gyros, and shawarmas - whatever you prefer to call them. I tried a beef Donair made in the Halifax style at this restaurant, and the owner knew exactly how to make it just right. The sweet sauce was delicious and the meat was cooked perfectly. The service was fast and friendly. I enjoyed it so much that I ended up buying three more to take back to my home on the Island since we don't have good Halifax-style donairs where I live. Although they didn't have diet soda, I still gave it a try because the service and food were exceptional.

I recently visited the Vancouver location of this restaurant. During payment, I was given the option to choose between USD and CAD currency. Since my card is from an American bank, I chose USD. However, the employee became aggressive and snatched my card from my hand in order to charge me the difference. He then refused to return my receipt. Additionally, the wraps had a terrible taste and fell apart as I ate them. Despite leaving a tip, my request for a refund was denied. I will not be returning to this restaurant and do not recommend it.

I had the best donair I've had in years and the service was friendly. If you're a fan of donairs, this is the place to go.

I have to say, this donair place is the worst I have ever visited. The lamb was awful, lacking any lamb flavor and could have passed as bologna. There was not much meat to speak of, although the prices were average.
