Bidrage med feedbackAmazing rustic mountain restaurant. We found it by accident skiing down from the glacier 20 and all of us freezing and starving. Homemade pasta and hot gluwein menu on a blackboard and cash only. Host Anita is charming and her English is impeccable. Highly recommend.
Stopped in here for lunch as we needed a bathroom break. Small indoor section and larger terrace with seating concierged to maximise their use of tables...so no terrible British tourists holding empty unoccupied tables with jackets and gloves while genuine diners cannot get a seat! Only one drop toilet with no running water so wet wipes are handy! Cooking completed in tiny kitchen by pretty formidable mama type with an apprentice. She then checked to make sure you were enjoying your food. Food served fast and selected from the day's blackboard menu. Soup specials and pastas, alcohol and cakes all delicious. Take the cable car and ski down...restaurant is on the right before you get to the incoming Valtourneche skiiers but just after the link goes off to Valtourneche.
Authentic warm friendly atmosphere with great wine and a Fred Flinstone Steak you can't complete the challenge. Really wonderful staff Annika and Emanuella lovely warm service with constant smile. The best sun trap on the mountain without the stress of Chalet Etoile motorway cafe style. Absolutely recommended
We came back after a two year break away from Cervinia. The pasta was just as good as we remembered! Small cozy place with very friendly owners and staff. Surprised it doesn't get more reviews but that may be because people are trying to keep it secret!
Small unpretentious chalet on the right side of Ventina run with extraordinary food and very friendly and caring service. Menu is very limited (see photo). I felt hungry and ordered a steak with mushrooms. Wow! Never expected such a quality in a mountain hut! The portion is huge, enough for hungry Arnold Schwarzenegger, at least I couldn't finish it. Food arrived quickly with bread basket and various spices to all tastes, and staff was smiling and nice. The restaurant is very small inside so better to visit in nice sunny weather to sit on a terrace and enjoy sun and view. When I was paying, the lady asked if I am to return to Zermatt, and advised to go quickly as the wind was getting stronger. I was already downstairs getting my ski, when she came out running to advise me the best way to come back, in order not to get stuck on Italian side. I followed the advice with a fellow customer and was on a Swiss side within 20 minutes, lifts closing behind us because of the wind. Thank you!
