Bidrage med feedbackWe ate here twice during our recent visit to Cervinia. On our first visit we asked if they had cider, the waiter found this amusing, but in a really friendly way. Ended up having Prosecco by the way. Had pizza on our first visit, very fresh and delicious. Had another meal and four of our party had the raclette which looked amazing. They were very accommodating for the two vegetarians in our party and there was plenty of choice on the menu for them. Would definitely eat here again if we return to Cervinia.
This is my second time in this restaurant. The first one was 2 years ago, just before CoVid. There were 12 of us. We sat at the top floor and enjoyed good pizzas and wine. This is the reason why today, without hesitation, I went in with my family promising them a good restaurant with nice food and atmosphere. The food was good, I'll give them that. That is the soul reason for me not rating them an even ONE. Upon service, the waiter put a small bottle of olive oil and a small bottle of Balsamic on the table. I asked for a small saucer and put some olive oil and some balsamic in it, to dip our bread in. The guy who looked like the owner approached the table and assertively, not to say pure offensively, told me that this was not normal and that if I wanted I could buy the oil and balsamic because they are very expensive. Shocked, I said I would pay for what we've consumed and he went ahead and removed the bottles of our table. It took me a few minutes and I approached hi, at the counter and told hi I was deeply offended by his act of rudeness in front of my entire family. He again should it was not normal and that the products were expensive. So, my 2 cents: 1. When you own a restaurant in a ski resort serving to many international customers it would be best if you did not assert what is normal and what isn't, If I were looking for a psychiatrist I would not have walked into a restaurant. 2. If your products are so expensive you should not offer them to the table (we never asked for them) but if you did, SUCK IT UP. 3. Be kind to your customers, they pay your salary. Not going there again. EVER.
We actually had good food and a lovely evening… until the bill came. We ordered the ‘Chateaubriand for 2 people’ which is clearly priced on their menu at €30. However, what the staff then did (and they’ll do the same if you order other sharing dishes like the fondue or the raclette) is added it to the bill TWICE because “two of us shared it”. So, with wine and starters, the sixty something euro dinner we had budgeted for turned into a ninety something euro evening. If you try to contest it, they will close ranks and tell you that it’s your fault for not realising that’s how their menu works. We listened to the same unapologetic spiel from each member of staff we spoke to (or rather tried to speak to as they spoke over us). It seems like a well rehearsed routine they enjoy performing to all the dumb tourists they catch out there. It’s an extremely cheeky way of charging people double; if two people have the €30 sharing dish then it’s actually €60. I feel terrible for taking my partner there. She was becoming visibly tearful but the staff just smirked and could not have cared less. They were right and we were wrong. “Nobody else has ever made this mistake” they told us, which now that I’ve come on here to read other reviews was clearly a massive lie. Our only bad experience in Cervinia.
I gave 5 stars because you couldn't. great all from appetizer to dessert, quality ratio balanced price, kind staff and serious and what to say, to return as soon as you have the possibility
Tasty eating, serving are big, a bit expensive
