Today we bought a spinat feta quiche and Blueberry peach cake from the tuxedo farmer market. I'm sorry, but they were really not good. someone forgot to taste the crust. seriously, no crust had any taste. the quiche filling was so bland I find it hard to believe there was any feta in it. the fruit filling was nice, but due to the lack of taste in the crust I would not try again. of course, unless someone tells me that we have messed up this day and left it out of the day.
I have not been to the actually shop, but I purchased one Blueberry and one Pecan Pie from their Pie Stand at Dr. Davies Apple Farm in Congers! Oh Boy were both pies delicious!! I usually find pies to be very sweet but both of pies were sublimly delicate and full of the actual flavor. And the Crust was prefection!! Can't wait to visit the shop on my next trip upstate!!
The coffee is amazeball (better and cheaper than starucks and the baked goods taste like your mom made it, that is, if your mother can bake : The cashier (Catie was very helpful and you could say she was passionate about the company. Great experience. Thank you.
I went here about a week ago to order a tiramisu for 20 people for a surprise party. I ordered it on a Friday, for pick-up Monday-and though they're not usually open Mondays, the owner agreed to have it ready by then and come in so that I could pick it up. When I went in for the cake consultation, the owners sat right down with me and went over every aspect, making sure I understood everything at each step. While the storefront may not look like much, they know their stuff-and freely admit that they do most of their business from specialized orders. The tiramisu was ready on time, a perfect size, and flawlessly decorated. The owner gave me advice on how to pack it for my (hour-long) drive in the hot weather, and it arrived in great shape. As for the cake itself....it was everything I could have asked for. The filling was light and not too sweet, the sponge cake was moist but not soggy, and it was a hit with every member of the party. The price was way less than I would have expected, and 15 dollars less than was originally quoted. I will be ordering cakes from the Little Bake Shop at every opportunity!
