La Meida - Valenciennes

2 and 2 brothers (valenciennes and Lille).Very good reception, and a kitchen worthy of this name! a decor worthy of this name!a recommend !

Very good reception. tajine with plums and almonds excellent. a recommend for meals with family or friends.

La Meida is situated between the Ibis hotel and the town centre...we chose it because it was getting late on a Sunday evening and not much was still open for dinner...when we sat down we were the only customers, which made us a little wary....However, the owner was very welcoming and gave us good advice on the North African wines (we got by with broken french as he didn’t speak any English) and on the menu. We had various dishes- including excellent lamb tagine and mixed grilled meats with couscous. The Algerian red wine we had was an excellent accompaniment to the spicy food. The food was priced in keeping with all the other restaurants we ate at in France, although beer was very expensive compared to others. the wine was a mid range priced at euros. Worth a visit and if you want a change from traditional french cuisine.
