Bidrage med feedbackAfter seeing The Tea Pot on FB, being a local, thought we would pop in for scones an coffee. Placed our order an due to not being too warm weather wise, sat indoors. Firstly, the table was dirty from previous guests! (It was not busy at time of visiting). The scone I am sorry to say was not a scone! It was all crumbly! an flat in appearance! I am sure it has been frozen prior an warmed! The coffee was not hot but luke warm! Very disappointing, as mentioned, being a local I would most definitely have returned.
We decided to stop in for a cream tea on a scorching hot day. Unfortunately, there was a minor issue with wasps, so we opted to sit in the marquee, which was uncomfortably hot. The tea was just right and the raspberry jam was the most delicious I've ever had. However, we were let down by the scones, which, despite their enticing appearance, were too dry and crumbly. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.
What a beautiful place this is. I have been here a few times as I live near by, but I took my friend this time as I have told her so much about it and she wanted to see what the fuss is about. She loves it! Lovely, quirky little place where you can just come, sit, eat and chat away (which is what we did). We brought our dogs a long too, and there were water bowls around for them to drink from. Treated ourself to a cheese scone and brownie. Delicious! I just love this place, and I’m so lucky to have it near enough on my door step.
I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. It seems like most of the items they serve are bought and simply reheated, including frozen pizza and below-average scones. I would recommend avoiding this place and finding somewhere nicer to dine.
Great place to stop for a cup of tea and scones, but the bacon sandwiches are not worth £4. I would only expect to pay half of that.
