The Spotted Dog - Uttlesford

This was the most amazing Christmas dinner ever! I don't typically write reviews, but I felt compelled to for this experience. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and very intimate. I came with my family on Christmas Day and enjoyed everything that was offered, especially the desserts with a rose port! I can't wait to go back and try the a la carte menu. I highly recommend this restaurant!

I recently visited The Spotted Dog for a friend's birthday lunch in the private dining room and was eager to return to try out the main restaurant. The welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, and excellent service made me feel right at home from the moment I walked in. Despite being part of a large party, we were still able to enjoy pre-dinner drinks in the garden, which was a nice touch. The extensive menu had plenty of tempting options, but we opted for a simple catch-up lunch with family. The food was delicious, the service was top-notch, and the prices were very reasonable. I can't wait to go back and sample more dishes from the main menu. If you're looking for a quality dining experience run by genuine and welcoming people, look no further than The Spotted Dog. You won't be disappointed!

I am blown away by the experience I had at this restaurant on Christmas Day 2023. It was truly the best Christmas lunch I have ever had. The food was beautifully presented with a wide variety of delicious options, not just the typical turkey roast. The service was superb and you could feel the warmth and effort that went into every detail. I am a regular at this pub and don't mind driving an hour to get there because it is always worth it. Thank you Carla and Neil for your exceptional hospitality and hard work. We truly loved our experience.

Just returned from having sunday lunch here and was bit disappointed after being recommended. The main meals were lovely as I had roast beef sirloin and my girlfriend had roast chicken. We both ordered sticky toffee pudding which looked like a small tub of microwave pudding with one scoop of ice cream and paid £8 for each pudding so £16 for a few mouth fulls, what a joke!! Didnt want to complain in front of everyone but should have said something at the time. Its a bit like when you have a bad haircut and walk out saying its lovely!!! Sorry spotted dog but felt mugged off so wont be back!!!

This place is amazing quite new to the area so we thought we would try this place . Excellent food and very warm,cosy atmosphere . Staff are so well mannered and will do anything to make your experience a first class one . We tried the Shared Sunday toast and it was so beautifully cooked . We just could not fault this lovely place and we will definitely return .
