Café Vredenburg - Utrecht

Went there 10pm on a Sunday. Asked if they had anything to eat. They came out with chips (fries) with mayonnaise. It was delicious. Next night we had the same plus bitterballen. We had Grolsch both nights. An excellent spot and very handy to the station.

Good cafe on the edge of Utrecht City Centre. Friendly service. If your glass is empty they ask if you want a refill. They know how to run business. ;

A great place for a drink and to meet new people. The staff and owner is very nice and make you feel welcome. I'd recommend to get a drink here.

On our way to the station we wanted to grab a few last drinks. We went to this place. The opposite venue (gegeven paard) was a bit too static. This one -pub style- suited better. Quite busy on Friday evening. Some limited dancing possible. Friendly bartender. Very convenient : a guy walks through the place with his PIN machine so you don't have to stand in line every time to order a drink. Very close to the station , the ugly side entrance to be precise, via such an ugly tunnel footpath. Already ugly already for decades, discovered it still is. I guess good place for people watching on their small terrace also.

The oldest pub in Utrecht has character, including its owner. It has been always there and it feels like it always will be. The kind of place where everybody knows your name. Beers, dark wood, finger food.
