Bidrage med feedbackIts a nice bakery with different type of sandwiches, bread, salads, cakes, and chocolates. They have a very good tea whenever you want to give people as a present you should get the tea. They have different type of flavours.
My wife and me made a stop here on the way to some friends, got a great apfelstrudel, wonderful latte and a great cheese sandwich. Sadly we got there a bit too late for their buffet but it did look great.
Nice little bakery and coffee house. Friendly staff, delicous croissants and good hot colombian coffee.
Us residents of Uster are delighted that Steiner has taken over this bakery as they now open on Sundays. Located 50 metres from the train station, it's easily accessible and offers freshly baked breads, pies, pastries, cakes, canapés and sandwiches. They also have a few warm dishes and often have a special of the day. Not only are the prices reasonable, the service is very friendly and the food is good.If you're in Uster and are looking for a bite, Steiner is your best bet.
Steiner has become my local café on Sunday mornings. Not only is it one of very few that are open on this 'sleepy Swiss' day, it also offers quite a few decent items. In addition to being a bakery offering freshly baked breads, danish, croissants, canapés, cakes and other confectionaries, it also offers Swiss breakfasts of a basket of baked breads with juice, coffee and a cheese & cold meat plate. My favourite is the toasted Pork schnitzel sandwich. An absolute bargain at 8 francs and really quite delicious. The place is very small and gets very busy so one might have to have a coffee at the bar while waiting to get a table. If you're in the area looking for a European breakfast (no English fry-ups here unfortunately), this is the place.Service is a bit hit and miss as they always seem too busy and overworked but we've come to get used to that in Switzerland. There are a couple of elderly Swiss ladies who wait tables and they are pleasant enough.
