The Beerhouse - Urbandale

Very cool. Great atmosphere, great food and drinks and loved how to order from your phone and take yourself. Things made easier. I wish there were more places. I definitely come back!

Top notch service. Brody the bartender is great and remembers your usual order a few times after a visit. This is mine and my staff are going to Trivia Spot on Tuesday!

For the first time the food was great had an app and the Crab Ragoon Burger.. it was a diffrent set up and if I knew how it worked in it would have been another experience. You need to order on your phone and get your own spices and cutlery and throw your own garbage.. There was no one to greet you so if you do not know this before the hand it was difficult to find out.

The food is 5 stars, very good pizza and nachos. I actually liked the ordering system, ordering beers and foods as you need them without waiting for a server to come by, and articles were delivered immediately. Self-service for plates, napkins, etc. is no problem, I would still type 15% due to a fast service and everyone was clearly working hard. Unfortunately because of the 3.5% credit card fee I decided to pay cash and had only enough for a 10% top.

As travelers passing through the area, we chose The Beerhouse for its proximity to our hotel, and because the menu selections looked good. We weren't prepared for the nearly contactless service, though. As 1st-time customers, using a QR code and scrolling and scrolling, and scrolling to read the menu made ordering difficult. The food arrived promptly and was good, but no one ever asked if we needed anything. Everything was dependent on the digital menu. It seemed like the only way to get a question answered was to go to the bar. If I lived in the area, I'm not sure I would return.
