Bidrage med feedbackLast night was probably the last time I will give this place a chance. It had been almost two months since the last visit, which is a shame because we used to visit twice a month. The pro's are that it still has a decent salad bar, which there aren't many left. The restaurant is clean, the sauces are good. The fried shrimp dinner is usually pretty good, have had one or two times where it's a little soggy, the cocktail leaves a lot to be desired though. Unfortunately, the cons far outweigh the pros. The all you can eat St.Louis ribs are so frequently tough, there has been the rare occasion where they are falling off the bone , but I haven't had that for quite a while. Last night I had the all you can eat chicken (24.99!! , and a salad bar (5.99 . The white meat was so dry I nearly choked on it, so I requested dark meat only afterwards. The first portion came out barely lukewarm, the reorders were better. But geez, $30 for chicken, that is cut oddly leaving little bits of bone on every other bite, the value simply is not there. I would rather spend $30 on a nice steak at Longhorn or Webbers. The sides...French fries are crinkle cut , and I have been served old fries before, they gave me fresh fries after complaining. The bean recipe is ehh, mostly it comes out thick like it's been in the warmer too long. The green beans are horrid every time I've had them. The garlic toast is good. The corn on the cob is fried and void of any seasoning. I used to really like this place, but I think I'm done with them. In order to get any good BBQ I think I will have to travel to St. Augustine.
Went in afternoon during the week. Only a couple of tables being served. The food was great but the air conditioning was way too cold. It was actually a race to try to eat fast enough before the air made the food cold. Although the food was good it is just not worth freezing. Chose to have desert elsewhere because it was just too cold. And brought a jacket. Will not return. The waitresses were more interested in messing with the volume of the music and singing....just not a good atmosphere. I would order to go if I order again.
Down here in Daytona for biketoberfest, wanted an off the strip place to eat. Location is nice. Even though the place looks and feels like a Sonny's BBQ, the food is MUCH better. Brisket sandwich had little fat, the pulled pork dinner was juicy. Not sure if the special but it was free salad bar. If you have done Sonny's, the salad bar is the same with the crunchy home made croutons. The only down side, the sweet potatoe was small and the corn fritters had way too much powder sugar. As I'm typing this, might as well say the service was lacking. I had to go get someone for refills. But the food was great. Bottom line, I would come back again if I were in the area and wanted BBQ. If you found this review helpful please give it a thumbs up.
