Bidrage med feedbackCame for a quiet beer with an out of town mate and i must say i was presently surprised. Went upstairs to the sports bar and i will definitely be back come NRL/AFL time. We were greeted by the lovely lady behind the bar who was more then happy to give us table service. TV's everywhere with sports from all over the world. But the food!! As you can see from the pics the servings are more then generous and very tasty. All in all a great little pub that I think is my new sporting venue come footy time!
The Agincourt Hotel was one of the only places in Sydney to have the NRL on the big screen instead of the AFL, so this place was already a big winner in my eyes. Our group ended up having the entire sports bar to ourselves (probably because we scared away everyone else with our screaming during the Sharks vs Raiders game), so it was almost like having our own private room and bar combined with a mega screen of the game. The girl serving us on the night was a gem. She recommended bottles of wine, gave us a run-down of the menu, and even lowered the blinds a bit so there wasn't too much glare on the screen. Awesome. The food was also spectacular for pub grub. Those of us who ordered chicken schnitzels and chicken parmigianas were not disappointed - what a serving! I've never seen such big schnitzels before. And they were freshly cooked with such crunchy crumbing - not like the standard soggy stuff you get at other places. They were perfect. We all left on a high, not just because of the Sharks win, but because of the lovely food and great service we had. I've only ventured into the street level part of the Agincourt before, but after Saturday night, I'll be heading straight upstairs for some quality pub grub!
I had a delicious steak for $10 on a Tuesday and got a $5 beer with it. Peggy provided excellent service and took great care of us!
The Agincourt, named after the English victory over the French, is a typical hotel offering reasonably priced drinks.
If you're a fan of moderately priced beer, high-priced spirits, and a bar with a less-than-desirable smell, then this establishment may be up your alley. The atmosphere is very minimalistic.
