Bidrage med feedbackWedding venue was amazing. The venue were extremely accommodating and open to all the things that we wanted. Perfect family run business and made our wedding day the most special day ever
Consistently great food, served hot, great service, good drinks selection, well priced, can not fault this restaurant.
We attended the barn restaurant for Christmas Day Lunch as we have every year for the last 6 years. Lovely atmosphere with great Christmas vibe but that’s as good as it got. Service was incredibly slow and food was just not what we have experienced before. Potatoes were rock hard and salty as were the vegetables. The turkey was cold, thick cut and dry and the stuffing looked like it had been turned out from a can of dog sheeba. The melon to start were great. I had already paid a deposit of £150 and was greeted with a further bill of in excess £500 for 5 adults. My mum had two mouthfallls and couldn’t eat anymore. My mum has the start of Alzheimer’s and we didn’t want a fuss but surely the waiter could have seen by the way very little was eaten by any of us and asked if there was a problem. He didn’t. That evening, I emailed a letter to Guiseppe the owner who replied quite rudely with complacency and arrogance insisting they were the best and not taking on board our polite constructive criticism. We were not looking for freebies just acceptance of our experience and maybe a simple apology. He suggested they open as a service with no profit in the event. I’m sorry at £85 per head I don’t buy that and if your usual standard or quality cannot be sustained then I suggest you shouldn’t do it. I’m sure many people enjoyed it and to them it was acceptable but to me and my family the experience was the worst we have experienced with you. So after many years of giving our custom to you, it is the last and could have been resolved with a simple apology. You say you have been in business over 30 years and obviously know it all so best regards and let’s see how many more years you trade with the attitude and arrogance you gave to me.
Superb wedding venue! We have just held our daughter and son in law’s wedding here. It was the most fabulous day! The staff are extremely professional at all times. The food is excellent, we had lots of positive feedback from guests. Special thanks go to Maggie for all of our meetings and being so meticulous in her planning. And Martin, the toastmaster who was absolutely brilliant. He helped and prepare the bridal party beforehand and was totally funny and charming throughout the day! This venue runs like a well oiled machine. Highly recommend.
Food from downstairs bar was good and the beer was fine. But the rules under which the staff have to operate this bar and the resentment demonstrated towards customers reached comic levels. Months ago we had called to say that a gathering of 30 people would arrive for lunch and were told we could not book in advance. When we arrived, it was opening time and they had four customers in a garden that could seat 100, we were told there were too many of us and we could not order food. They let us order drinks but we could open open a tab. We pulled a few tables together so we could sit together in groups. Some of us did go in and order food per couple, which was within the rules. Apart from our group they were only a dozen other people that visited. I heard someone say they had been waiting 10 minutes to order food and they were told What do you expect we are busy. Some of us had a second round of drinks before leaving. As we left a doorman called us back and ordered us to return the tables to their original positions, which we did with great humour. Despite spending a few hundred pounds we were treated like riff-raff, troublesome customers. It was so awful it was hilarious. Far better than anything Fawlty Towers had to offer.
