Poplar Cafe - Tower Hamlets

I was going to sit down at a table and I saw a mice run across the floor towards the kitchen I was shook I couldn’t believe it because I’ve been coming here for quite a while the food is great but after this I don’t think I’ll be coming back here again

Amazing. Second visit great breakfast, super choice and fab customer service. Can’t beat it in the whole of London I reckon.

We went back to this cafe which had become one of our favourites. Not any longer! It was quite busy but mainly with diners who had finished. We were greeted and then completely ignored after we'd sat down. We only got a menu after asking a few times and then we were ignored again. Our order wasn't, even after we asked them to do so. After at least 15 minutes waiting we left. If the problem was that they were really busy and couldn't serve us, all they needed to do was tell us. But pretending they were going to help and then ignoring us was very disappointing service.

I ordered a set meal, I asked them to remove 3 items (over £5) and replace with 1 item that costs no where near the £5. They removed the 3 items without adding the extra that I asked for. How can you read the first half of the sentence and not the other. The food was horrible.

We discovered the Poplar Cafe in between lockdown but haven't been back since the end of 2020. On our return visit this weekend we found it as good as we remembered! The place is comfortable and really clean, the staff are very friendly, the food is good and the portions are generous. This remains our favourite cafe during our cycle rides around London!
