Le Delice des Galets - Toucy

We ate here last night and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The slight downside was we hit it on a quiet night and were the only two in the restaurant for over an hour. We were warmly welcomed and given one of the tables by the window with comfy armchair seats so we could watch the world go by. There are two menus 25 euros and 34 euros for three courses. If you want cheese it's 3 euros etc. Our meal was very tasty, beautifully presented and filling. I had the first menu, my husband the second, with a kir each, one glass of white and a glass of red wine each the bill came to 89 euros which we thought good value for money for the type of food, decor and service Both waitresses were very kind and treated a man who was a bit worse for beer with courtesy. They let him sit at an outside table and brought him something off the a la carte menu which was within his budget. Other customers turned up with their cat and they were also made to feel welcome. I would just say that sitting outside puts you a bit close to traffic noise and people walking between the tables All in all a very pleasant evening and a place I would recommend if in the area.

We were recommended this place by Rik and Marieke at La Borde and it was just delicious. We ate melt in the mouth foie gras, stunning duck, a supple steak, a luxurious chocolate pudding and all washed down by local red wine. What is important to me when travelling anywhere is to go somewhere local and that was exactly what this place was. No one spoke English, which I loved and everybody else in there apart from us was French. It was no fuss elegant food, exactly what we wanted. Thank you!

This little restaurant in the centre of town lifts the standards in Toucy. The food is very nice, elegantly presented and the service is efficient and friendly. The only problem for us was the open windows where the smoke from smokers wafts in and the occasional very large truck rumbling past within meters.

Sunday 19 December is perfect the welcome and kindness of the people who serve you. Just 1 or 2 degrees of heat would have come the good Thank you.

Very good reception. The Larousse menu is succulent. I recommend this restaurant
