The Keg Steakhouse + Bar Esplanade

The garden greens salad was not fresh. Everything else tasted amazing, the steaks and drinks, but the crumbled and slimy leaves from the appetizer salad hurt the mood and impression. The service was friendly and attentive as always, and I’ve found this location quite friendly to walk-ins. Will be back for another dinner, but hope they can fix the salad ingredients.

Went to the bar for late night dessert and coffee. It was such a nice area by the fireplace and the seats were comfy. The waitress was SO nice. The only thing that I was upset about was they didn’t have two regular sized creme brûlée and she asked if we wanted two smalls in lieu for not having a regular size… and we were good with it. Although, she charged us for two smalls… which was more expensive. We would’ve only bought one if we knew. Other than that, will come back!

My boyfriend and I had the best experience at this specific keg. The service was top notch and they even gave us a card and a free dessert for our anniversary. Every single staff member was so kind and welcoming! We live about an hour away but I will gladly drive to this keg over any other keg near us since we had such a great experience. Thank you to all the staff members…your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed.

A group of us went to this restaurant on a Saturday night for dinner before a Leafs game. Despite having two servers attending to us, there was a lack of communication between them. We were provided with numerous excuses for the slow service, as they claimed to be caught off guard by how busy it was on a Saturday night before a Leafs game on the Esplanade. The food was of the usual Keg standard (which is good), but they need to improve their service on game days.

I recently dined at The Keg on Esplanade and was very disappointed. Despite being directed to a specific table, we were later told it wasn't available, while another guest was allowed to sit there. The service felt rushed and did not meet the expected standards for such a reputed brand. The food only added to the disappointment – the cauliflower and chicken wings were poorly cooked, and the bread was extremely hard, almost impossible to eat. Based on this experience, I would suggest visiting The Keg in York for a more reliable and enjoyable dining experience.
