Bidrage med feedbackGreat place to relax an get some work done, but the timing is horrible, it says it closes at 10pm and it actually closes at 6pm on saturdays. Really i obvious the owner doesn't hire enough staff and closes earlier to save on employee wage. I am sure they don't get paid much so it would be worth it to be open for a at least a couple more hours.
Excellent customer service. Very friendly and welcoming. Coffee is great too. I’ve always preferred second cup’s coffee over other cafes. Try their Irish Cream coffee, it’s delicious even drinking it black!
Good morning. Why would Owen the new guy at your 1567 Steeles Ave E, Toronto, ON M2M 3Y7 location have the idea that it's good customer service to not have the medium brew running? Myself, the customer ahead and behind me were the only customers in the store ordering at the peak time of 8:30 AM this Friday morning and we all were expecting the medium roast. This is 2 days in a row. Why? Owen is new and why would he think it is good customer service to only let me know what they dont have the medium roast. Is the Second Cup agenda to go out of business? I love my Second Cup medium at this location to the point of raving to my wife about it, BUT I am very let down this morning about how the new barrista Owen is not someone I want to hand my $3 to for a cup of holiday light swill. I needed to train Owen on how to sell me a coffee. And then he charged me $6 for the alternative of an espresso shot in a light medium cup. Why?!?! Is Second Cup trying to go out of business? When I asked Owen why they didnt have the medium when it clearly is in high demand, he explained the agenda of diversity through the offering of a different line up light, festive and dark. So I am left with the impression that the training is so bad that barristas are left to push the corp agenda and not sell great coffee. Worst experience this morning. Trust me Second Cup, leaving your business at the hands of Owen's will be its downfall. Are you paying attention?
Update: with the new ownership the place is updated and nice inside, all new. But the desserts are often not replenished, and their honey is super diluted. Service is pretty slow. Coffee got worse, maybe that's all the post pandemic effect, hopefully this coffee shop will come back to how great it used to be. Still offers plenty of space for large groups indoors.__________A large coffee shop, however outdated with dim lighting and filthy chairs and armchairs, those are definitely due for renewal. Otherwise good location with plenty of free parking, and lots of space inside.
Great but the noise in that place is way too loud. Don't go on Saturday about 3:30 pm as it's extremely loud bc this fair faced large woman hosts a chitchat table and has a booming voice. She's a talk in your face individual, tries to get attention by taking over the entire shop by talking extra loud and annoying all the patrons. Plus she goes on her cell phone while friends are at her table and has long winded, conversations with emphasis on LOUD. Bring ear plugs. As for the rest of the place the air conditioner is still broken (November 2022) and with the temperature high outside it feels like 100 degrees inside and uncomfortable. The owner's should sell this place instead of continuously cutting corners.
