Bidrage med feedbackAmazing jerk chicken. The pineapple corn is excellent.
A solid 4.5/5 joint.!! #FeedTheSoulVisited this place on a foggy winter morning as I took a stroll from Spadina station. Located very near to the station and in one of the foodie neighbourhood of the Annex, the Scotty Bona did blow my mind. The staff were really helpful with suggestions and I went the Jerk Chicken Sandwich which is 8 CAD without tax. There is a combo offer on the sandwiches as well. The Jerk Chicken Sandwich is indeed a recommendation if you like it spicy. The coleslaw filling inside the bread was fresh and didn’t taste funny like they usually do in most restaurants. They had three options for sauces as well including hot sauce. The space for seating can be a bit of a thing as they don’t have a lot of space for dining in. But that aside I would say this is one amazing place to check out and taste some good food be it bowls, sandwiches or roti!!There are two more branches of the same in Keele Street and Warden Avenue I believe.Vegetarian options: The dishes are made to go and thus I believe vegetarian customizations are thereParking: Since its in the annex it is not that easy to find free street parkingKid-friendliness: They don’t have high chairs or low tables as dining is a bit short. Best would be order a takeout!Wheelchair accessibility: The entrance is not wheel chair accessible
Big hype however nothing crazy special, the jerk chicken needs better seasoning, tastes
Please specify on uber eats that the beef patties are NOT halal, I have ordered many times without knowing before going to the location where it is listed on the menu.Edit: It seems they have now written that they are non halal on uber eats so I changed my review to 5 stars. Thanks scotties ?
Scotty Bons: A Caribbean Grill with Fading BrillianceMy recent visit to Scotty Bons, a Caribbean grill, left me with mixed feelings. While the restaurant still retains some of its original charm, there are noticeable signs that the quality is gradually slipping. The ambiance at Scotty Bons is vibrant and lively, reflecting the spirit of Caribbean culture. The colorful decor and upbeat music create an enjoyable atmosphere. However, I couldn't help but notice a slight decline in the overall maintenance of the restaurant, with some areas showing signs of wear and tear. The menu at Scotty Bons continues to feature a variety of Caribbean-inspired dishes, offering a diverse range of flavors. The jerk chicken and seafood options remain highlights, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to authentic Caribbean grilling techniques. However, there's a noticeable inconsistency in the execution of dishes, with some lacking the depth of flavors I had come to expect from previous visits. The service, once a strong point at Scotty Bons, has also experienced a dip. While the staff remains friendly, the attentiveness and efficiency seem to have waned. On this occasion, there were delays in getting orders taken and served, impacting the overall dining experience.Regrettably, the decline in quality extends to the once-impressive presentation of the dishes. While still decent, the attention to detail seems to have diminished, affecting the visual appeal of the food.In summary, Scotty Bons is still a decent choice for those craving Caribbean flavors, but it's evident that the restaurant is facing challenges in maintaining its previous standard of excellence. The management may need to address issues related to consistency, service efficiency, and overall maintenance to ensure that Scotty Bons regains its former luster. My experience warrants a cautious recommendation, with the hope that the establishment can address these concerns and return to its former glory.Vegetarian options: They got optionsDietary restrictions: Very accommodating. Don't stressParking: Lots of parking
