Piazzetta - Toronto

Piazzetta now has three locations, and of the three, I believe that their location number 3 on Yonge Street north of Eglinton is the best. The atmosphere is cozy, with exposed brick and black and white photos of young Italian actors and actresses creating a mood of a casual neighborhood trattoria. We were greeted warmly and seated at our preferred table, even without a reservation. The house wine, a Valpolicella, was quite good. For appetizers, we enjoyed the grilled calamari and the minestrone soup, both delicious. The soup was full of fresh, flavorful vegetables, and the calamari was perfectly seasoned with tomato, olive, and capers. Both paired well with the house grilled crostini with rosemary and black olives, which were provided on every table. We were pleased to see a large selection of gluten-free pasta options, in addition to the regular pasta choices. The paglia e fieno (straw and hay) with porcini mushrooms and tomatoes was outstanding, likely the best dish in the restaurant, and the rice rigatoni with primavera sauce was also delicious. The special of large calf spice with shrimp was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The prices were very reasonable, and we left feeling very satisfied with both the service and the excellent food. This location is in a lively part of the city, popular with young professionals, but the laid-back atmosphere and fresh cuisine make it a favorite spot to visit. I will definitely return whenever I crave welcoming, delicious Trattoria food.

We were pleased to discover a variety of gluten-free pasta options alongside the traditional varieties. The Paglia e Fieno with porcini mushrooms and tomatoes was outstanding and stood out as the best dish on the menu. The rice rigatoni with primavera sauce was equally delicious. The large veal chop with shrimp special was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Prices were reasonable, and we left feeling satisfied with the service and quality of the food. Located in a bustling part of town known for its young and eligible diners, this Piazzetta location offers a low-key atmosphere and fresh, delicious food that make it a favorite neighborhood spot. I will definitely return when I crave welcoming and excellent trattoria cuisine.

The service at this restaurant was just okay, and the pizza was pretty average to below average. There were very few toppings on the pizza, you could even see strands of mozzarella and just a few other toppings.

Loved the place run by dad and sons Ciao Italia_For sure.

Nice cozy spot with some great pizzas! Had a beef salad which I wasn't crazy about but the pizzas are worth going back for.
