Matisse Restaurant and Bar - Toronto

Nice variety of food. The salmon was excellent...nicely cooked, as medium rare. The only bad aspect was the Quinoia looked like it had been cooking for a day...far too water logged. The service was excellent. Good if you want to go and have a business meeting...quiet enough so you can talk.

Have walked by the Marriott on Bloor (just east of Yonge and the Bay store) millions of times and never even knew about Matisse Restaurant inside. Well-located with tasty dishes on the menu and good service. Great spot if you don't like a loud, crowded restaurant with your neighbours able to hear your conversation. Somewhat of a formal style but servers are super friendly and food is great.

I was at the Marriott hotel for a seminar and stopped in to the restaurant for lunch. The food was very well plated and equally as delicious. I had the steak and wild mushrooms with mixed green salad as the side. I will probably even consider ordering the same item if I return, even though I’d be tempted to try many other choices based on how good mine was. Updated decor and friendly service.

We had an awesome breakfast with friendly server .Love the eggs Benedict and fluffy Blueberry Pancakes. Highly recommended!

Because of the snowstorm, we decided to eat at this restaurant at the Marriott hotel. While the restaurant was not very busy, we found that the staff was kind of slow. Additionally, we asked to change the channel to watch a hockey game and the waiter said we couldn't do that because they were connected to other TVs and other people are watching things. A little bit later in the evening, another waiter walk by and just walked to the AV box area and changed the channel for the TV. We wanted to do was watch the hockey game instead of having news or basketball on TV. In terms of the service, it was slow and it took forever to even get a waiter's attention to get our water glasses refilled. The food quality is very good and I thought that the bruschetta appetizer was very good and the risotto was well-made and flavourful. My friend ordered the steak frites and she thought it was done perfectly to her liking. She also thought, that the presentation of the food look nice, but putting the steak on top of the french fries was not the most easiest way to eat so she had to remove it from the top of the french fries. There were lots of french fries and her meal, that she did not find that she needed to eat all of them either. It's the serving sizes are very generous here. Overall, this restaurant is conveniently located, however, the service is slow. The food is good.
