While the food was good, it was also quite expensive. Due to the prices, my family and friends are unable to dine here frequently. If the restaurant offered more affordable options, we would definitely visit more often. Charging $10 for a single dish is simply too high.
Excellent Hakka cuisine at an affordable price. The Chicken pakora is a must-try, especially if you enjoy spicy dishes to accompany your drinks. The other menu items are also top-notch, with generous portions and excellent service. Overall, superb value for your money.
In my opinion, this is the best Hakka restaurant. I have tried many Hakka restaurants in the Greater Toronto Area, but this is still my favorite. They offer the best flavors, portions, and prices. The taste may have changed a bit after they opened a second location, as I believe the original chef moved to the new spot, but the food is still great overall. My favorite dishes to order are Chicken Pakora, Singapore Rice Noodle, Garlic Chicken, Hot and Sour Soup, and Manchurian Chow Mein. The restaurant is on the smaller side, so if you plan to dine in with a large group, I suggest arriving early or going to their other, larger location. They are always busy, so be sure to give them at least half an hour for takeout orders to be ready.
Was craving some pakora the other day. I've been coming to Lucky's since I was a kid. It's definitely not the same fresh quality it used to be, and the service is also lacking. The chicken pakora was just decent, but the beef pakora was terrible. Doesn't taste like beef at all. I literally gagged when eating it. The issue with service I asked the lady at the counter to make sure lime slices got packed in with the pakora, as it usually does. I asked twice once when placing the order and a second time when I came back to pick it up. Each time the woman at the front told me yes, it comes with the pakora and it'll be in the bag. Well low and behold, I get to the park where we're eating and there are no lime slices. Anyways I called to let her know and she laughed and asked me if I wanted to come back for lime. I would like to say you get what you pay for, but it's not even like Lucky's is cheap. For the price, there are wayyyyyy better spots to get (Hakka) Chinese in Scarborough.
