Lots of patio space, but the tables are small and rather sticky. The servers seem to speak minimal English, so we knew it would be authentic. The menu is...
I'm in here twice, it's great if you don't have any vegan friends, because none of you have to sacrifice, even though I don't think it's meat for a meal that eats a sacrifice. on a brighter note, I love the atmosphere, feels very authentic.
Only came here to meet non-fed friends for brunch. normally my gf and I would either go to the legendary hibiscus or king’s cafe or urban herbivore to the brunch in kensington market. the story is that the owners used to own a flavored on the market, and because the owner Mexican home cooking was so good their friends beat them to start a restaurant. then she re-invented the existing restaurant el trompo. they have a series of veggie items on the menu and other elements that make them vegan on request. our server was very aware of the difference between vegan and vegetarian, and what items were for us to eat in order. we had the veggie alambres, a veggie guide was used with soft mais tortillas, of which they were more brought out of the dozen. it had ananas mixed with the other typical Mexican veggies and was perfect for brunch. we also had hongo, fried mushrooms with coriander and swirl, which digest with the fresh guacamol and table sauces. I'll go back sometime when I go after, more real and a much better value than rancho relaxo, another Mexican place with a decent veg selection. I love rancho's deep soy ice cream cream.
