Descendant Detroit Style Pizza

Had Descendant pizza for the first time tonight. Easily the best pizza I've ever had. Not sure of the name but mine had bacon, mushrooms, caramelized onions, and some thyme and lemon zest on top. Wow. Just wow. Should also mention that we took our two kids (4 and 6) and they loved the plain cheese pizza they had.

My husband and I decided to try out this pizzeria without any expectations. It turned out to be a small, bustling spot with a strong takeout business, as well as a cozy 18-seat restaurant offering table service and cloth napkins. It was surprising to learn that they even take reservations. We chose to sit at the counter next to the window and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The deep-dish pizza was absolutely fantastic. We tried the Truff-Ghi, which had a combination of cheese, slow-roasted garlic cremini mushrooms, double smoked bacon, caramelized onions, lemon zest, fresh thyme, Grana Padano, and white truffle sauce. It was perfect for our smaller appetites and we both loved it. I ordered a glass of Merlot, which was very good, while my husband enjoyed one of the many beers they have on offer. The restaurant was buzzing with a lively atmosphere and we found ourselves to be the oldest patrons there, but we had a great time. We definitely plan on returning in the future.

Fantastic pie! The ambiance, service and spectacular pizza made for a wonderful bite. The crust is what makes it, but the pepperoni and sauce raise the bar for all TO pizza joints. This one is an A+ or 5*

The Detroit style pizza was surprisingly light, crispy, and packed with delicious flavors that exceeded expectations. The atmosphere is beautiful and equally creative, showing great attention to detail. The wide selection of craft beers and delicious wines was also a standout feature. Every penny spent here is worth it and goes back to an owner with a heart of gold, who is dedicated to giving back and making a difference in humanity. Stopped by here on a whim as I was out with my husband and MIL. We all have different food preferences, but opted to split a large Gatt Daddy anyway. We were each of us blown away! None of us had ever had Detroit deep dish, but we all loved it. Turns out it’s exactly the kind of pizza I’ve wanted to have my whole life, but didn’t know it. The decor is fun and the staff (Don`t be afraid of the trendy hair and tats that can sometimes be intimidating! was approachable and friendly. We will be back again to try different offerings from the menu. Eventually we’d like to try all of them, but our stand outs for next up are the classic pepperoni, and the fancy looking “Truff Ghi.” Can’t wait to head back!
