Fish Depot - Toowoomba

Best calamari I've ever had, but for the price, I can't complain. The chips were hot and crispy, just the way I like them. Overall, a decent meal for a great price.

I recently visited Fish Depot at Red Edge Shopping Centre and was blown away by the experience. The service was quick and friendly, the prices were reasonable, and the food was delicious. A truly WOW-worthy dining experience.

Below is a copy of the email I sent. No response in a week. You be the judge. To Whom it may concern, I wish to share with you and give you the opportunity to rectify an unfortunate and embarrassing experience my family had at your Toowoomba (Rangeville) store last night, 13/8/17.Myself and a group of 10 friends decided to go and have a meal, choosing your store as it was conveniently nearby. My family having to make a detour on the way, I rang through the order at 5.49pm, having young children, and not wanting to hold my other friends up. My first question was in regards to the current wait time, which I was advised was approx 10 mins. I placed my order for 'as soon as it was ready'.I arrived at the venue at 6pm, and my wife enquired if our order was ready, it wasn't, and she paid for the meal.10 minutes later, a few of our friends had their meals, thinking this was a bit strange (they had ordered at 6pm), my wife again enquired about the meal, it was confirmed that they had the order.10 minutes later (6.20pm) I enquired about the meal, and was assured that it was being cooked, and they had the time marked as 7pm, but it would be momentarily coming out.10 minutes later (6.30pm) I again enquired, however by this time, My wife and I were embarrassed, as our now quite hungry children had eaten, sharing the meals of our other friends.I explained this to the young girl serving, who I understand was new in the job. I was then attended to by one of the young fellows from out the back who seemed to have more experience. I was then rather rudely told that the order was for 7pm, which was not the case at all, as this time was never once mentioned during me placing my order. Turning around, I realised that all my friends had entirely finished and packed up their rubbish. I did then request a refund, which was initially incorrectly returned, requiring me to ask for the correct amount.I went and bought take out elsewhere, and ate it on my own at home, and also offered reimbursement to the other family that hadn't quite had enough to eat as they had offered food to my children.I understand that mistakes were made, but I also gave multiple opportunities for this to be corrected.I am sure that a better standard of service is to be expected at your stores.I am writing directly, instead of leaving a public review, again to give you opportunity to make amendsPlease feel free to contact me to discuss if you would like any further

Convenient place to buy takeaway Fish & Chips. Also, tables and a park nearby if you wish to eat and relax.

We had dined at this restaurant multiple times in the past and were excited to return. However, we were extremely disappointed with the quality of the food. We ordered fish and chips for two, a common and simple dish, but were shocked by what was served to us. The portion of chips was extremely small, the fish was unappetizingly grey and smelly, and the dim sims were undercooked. We will not be returning to this restaurant as it was a complete waste of time and money. We would have been better off throwing $25 in the trash and making eggs on toast at home.
