The Heights - Toledo

The ambiance and food/cocktails are top notch! The serving staff maintained a high level of professionalism even though they were clearly busy. I can't wait to go back.Food: 5/5

Very nice rooftop restaurant inside of the Renaissance Marriott hotel. The views were amazing, the decor, the vibe overall; music definitely would have elevated the vibe a bit. We were staying at the hotel so this was super convenient for us to grab dinner. We were greeted and welcomed upon arrival. The service was just ok once we were settled at our table, the waitress seemed like she had to warm up to us, not sure what that was about. As for the food, some things were good and some were not. My husband ordered a classic burger which was delicious, they didn’t have any mayo, only packs which was weird. The house salad and vinaigrette dressing was good. The buffalo cauliflower was amazing and the sauce was bomb! Now, the loaded fries were not at all appetizing, the fries were not fresh and they were salty, the cheese was muddy, as if it had been sitting and they tried to do a quick reheat, also keep in mind the fries have pulled pork on top. I ordered a cocktail with tequila, can’t remember the name, something with “darling” in it; it wasn’t good at all, it’s definitely an acquired taste. The drink was thick and had a heavy fruit syrup consistency. Overall we would definitely go back if only for the amazing views, drinks and the cauliflower.

If you make a reservation and select outside don’t plan to be sat outside. The service was bad. 15 minutes to get 2 beers. Food came within reason. Pretzel was good. Loaded fries were nothing special. Could be a nice place just needs help.

Overall, good experience. Server was nice, he was busy. Still took good care of us. Food was delicious, I wish I would have ordered an appetizer. I was super bummed I booked an outdoor reservation and we didn't get to sit outside.

This spot has racially profiled us every time I have been. What really made me realize it is when a staff member who was not even our waiter came over and ask why were we sitting waiting. I let them know that they told us it was a 30min wait. The waiter proceeded to tell me that they sat two different couples before us that were of course not African American and told us that those couples did not have reservations. They said that they watch them treat African Americans bad all the time. That was my last time going there its been a problem every time but that was the last straw.
