Roar - Tofino

Roar was amazing! we went to the day my friend celebrated and it was the perfect place to finish the night. we had the Thai mosquitoes, the seafood plate and the long bone steak. all were divine! the drinks also fantastic. we come back to tofino every time!

The service once seated was slow from taking our order to being served. The small plate we ordered was excellent. The main dish took over 30 mins after our small plate dishes were cleared and wasn't nearly as good quality. Dessert also slow to arrive was excellent. The open kitchen is in the restaurant which is fun to watch but makes it very noisy.

A delicious burger and mussels kissed by the smoke of wood coals. The service was attentive and authentic too. The only drawback would be the prices which appear overly inflated; we passed on the $190 steak for two and opted for the $30 burger instead.

Food, service and atmosphere were outstanding. My hubby’s roast chicken was exceptional, as were the chickpea tempeh bites. The cedar marinade was unbelievable had it on both the bites and my salmon. A fantastic addition to the remarkable Tofino/Ucluelet food scene.

Although the menu is somewhat of an off mix if cuisines, the wood-fire kitchen is very cool and our food amd drinks wereexcellent. Server was equally good.
