El Piantao - Tlalpan

Steak house with a South American atmosphere in a beautiful shopping district in the southern part of the city. we sat outside and it was very pleasant, but I was a little surprised at the cats that strip around! the service was great and the steaks and...the empanadas were delicious. they have parking and validating.

Visited on a Friday before during the busy Christmas season. Arrived early (12:30pm) for lunch before the big crowds arrived and found we got excellent food and continually good service. The meats were all wonderfully seasoned and cooked perfectly and we tried steak, beef, poultry...and pork.. pleased with all of the meats. Also found a tasty array of cheeses with an accommodating range of flavors from mild to spicy. Really pleased with the experience we had here and would return.

Although I love tacos and other sorts of 'on the go ' Mexican food, my self longed for a location that felt real, home, gentle. A place that doesn 't serve you fast to clear the table to receive the next 'bill '. Not Piantao. We arrived very...early, by Mexican standards, and just sat outdoors and enjoyed tequila, and no one insisted on taking our order. And the rest of our lunch transpired the same way, easy on the mind. Their landscaping leads the mind to just wander off. And the food, well, their canelloni and vacio meat take care of the body!

We did a business lunch for a small group. The service was good and professional and the food was very tasty. The steak was good quality and prepared well.
