Bidrage med feedbackOkay, so I'm going to warn you that this place is not fancy by any means and the indoor dining setup is a little...how should I say? Old school--it's like something you might find in an alley. Certainly a hole in the wall. But I'm telling you it's worth getting past that initial image and yes it's in this strange, small strip mall but the food is exceptionally fresh, so tasty and decently priced. Literally the nicest people work here as I must have bugged them for five cups of hot tea while I was there and they were happy to accommodate. I don't know what they put in their hot tea in Iraq. I didn't ask but it's super sweet and comforting after the meal. These pictures are after scarfing down half the dishes, so please do not judge the lack of meat. When the food got delivered to the table, the portion amounts were just right! This was such a relaxed, super chill place and definitely delicious. They have so many vegetarian and vegan options and tons of meat options as well and honestly I have never tasted Iraqi food this good since trying it years ago in Vancouver BC. Lucky for the locals here! We ordered the lamb tikka, mezzah and chicken sandwich.
Ordered chicken kabab platter I think it was called and it tasted very yummy. The chicken was VERY juicy and tender and the rice even tasted good. The salad looked neat and cleanly cut and tasted great with the sauce. The quantity was reasonable for the price also. Thanks for filling me up with great food! this was an online Uber eats order. Updated review and pictures: Went and dined in. The ambience and atmosphere was very calming. We were greeted instantly. The wait time wasn’t bad either. And the food tasted better than before, because it was fresh. Ordered the same chicken tikka player but with beef kabab on the side. And oh my, the taste was impeccable! The only down side about the place was the and the Turkish coffee. As seen in the picture, it’s tooo small for 2.50, and super duper bitter (I tasted a sip and couldn’t finish the rest). So if you like strong bitter coffee, this is for you; but the price still wasn’t worth it. Also, the baklava was good too (but a big piece/slice); ordered one for to go. All in all, found a nice halal restaurant for Portland and will be ordering more whenever we’re in town. Shukran!!!
This was the best middle eastern food I’ve ever had in Portland. I’ve had a lot of Mediterranean food here but this one hits the spot. It feels fresh and homemade and not like anything was frozen and packaged. Everyone there was super nice and friendly and they had EXTRAVAGANT service. 10/10 for me. I would eat this everyday if I could
The owner is really nice Friendly staff and friendly service They have the bear halal hamburger I highly recommend their burger You need to try it You won’t regret it They also have chicken saj. It is really good Their sauce is really good too We will be back for sure
