The Fox And Hounds - Thurston

Honestly don’t think I’ve ever been to a pub with a better atmosphere and team behind the bar and kitchen. Definitely the, if not one of the best pubs you could walk into in Suffolk. The staff are so friendly and really give you such a comfortable and warm welcome, alongside the locals who are more than happy to welcome people into conversations etc. This pub has such a good family feeling. Great food, and tailor to children within the dining hours. Then turns into a proper pub with a great atmosphere there on after with absolutely crystal clear 5 star beer. Dogs are welcome within the bar which is such a vital part, considering how many dog lovers we have in todays world. I can honestly say I’ve never been to a more complete, well managed and considerate pub who are determined to provide the best experience for both community and external guests throughout. Really great job guys, everyone needs to get down to the Fox and Hounds and experience what I have! (As someone not local to the village of Thurston)

Went for a Friday evening meal here last week and we are very glad that we did! Service was friendly, attentive and professional, the choice of beers was great and the food was plentiful, tasty and brilliant value. I really can't fault The Fox and Hounds and will no doubt be returning soon

Just moved to the area and have been in a couple of times. Can't fault this place. Great pub grub. Great atmosphere. Great staff. Perfect for meeting friends and catching up. Brilliant!

Great pub; my mates like the ales the lager is pretty decent too, along with the cider. Cheesy chips are the best the staff are very friendly. Went again in June 2022 with my two sons for a midweek meal out. Great value steaks and it was warm enough to sit outside too. Shame I forgot to get my loyalty card stamped.

Usually such a great pub... Visited with 3 friends on Saturday 1st May 2021 and took our place in the tent. Sat down just before 7pm. First drink arrived at 7:31... Good job we ordered 2 rounds at once to avoid further dry spells. The food we ordered came fairly promptly and my medium rare sirloin was one of the best steaks I've had anywhere, ever. The beer service continued to be slow, but double rounds was the solution! With a captive audience, the drink service could have been better organised, but we will be back.
