Masala - Thrikkakara

Went to the Masala restaurant in Holiday Inn Kochi for dinner. Opted for their special Republic Day buffet. The spread was quite good, with the desserts spread being exceptional. However, as we stay in Mumbai and were in Kerala for a short break, we had a craving for Kerala veg cuisine. The staff was very courteous and got me and my wife sambar as well as appam though they were not in the buffet menu. Apart from this also, the service and hospitality of the staff was really outstanding. Special mention to Saran, Shubham, Ambadi and their manager Vysakh for making us very comfortable. However, the actual surprise for the evening came at the time of the bill. We were informed that we had been charged only for 1 buffet in place of 2, since the buffet spread for Kerala veg food was limited. To be fair, the spread for veg wasn't that limited, however given the limited Kerala veg cuisine part of the buffet, the staff went out of their way in the billing. We were also informed that Kerala veg cuisine spread will be available for lunch and we can check with them or inform in advance in case we would be coming for the same. We may not have time during our current stay in Kochi to go back to the restaurant for lunch, but yes, Holiday Inn has definitely gained two loyal customers. Truly appreciate their gesture.
